Redman is one of Australia truly great wine dynasties. The first Coonawarra manifestation was Rouge Homme in the 1960's.
The three generations of Redman owners and winemakers never worked together. Owen signed a 1983 imperial with his son Bruce in 1984/6? Malcolm, Owens grandson, helped us drink the 1983 and then took the empty back to Coonawarra, filled it with the award winning 2000 cabernet, cleverly grafted the 2000 label on the original and added his signature. The 2000 vintage was many, many years after Grand old Owen passed away.
