Drink 2018–2034
This bottle was opened in front of me and served without decanting. Containing 4% Cabernet Sauvignon and with a deep garnet-purple color, the 2014 Shiraz St Henriz has a relatively shy nose of black plums, black cherries and mulberries with nuances of underbrush, fruit cake and damp soil. The full-bodied palate has satisfying richness, with firm, rounded tannins supporting the earthy fruit layers, finishing with good depth and persistence.

Deep crimson. Lovely ripe blackberry, ginger, dark chocolate aromas with hints of black olive. Buoyant and concentrated blackberry, boysenberry, raspberry fruits, ginger sesame notes and loose-knit ripe fine silky/hint graphite tannins. Builds up firm with excellent mineral length. Superb fruit definition, volume, tannin ripeness and vinosity. Aniseed notes at the finish. "A classic signature St Henri with a ton of mouthwatering acidity and great uplift through the palate." (JA) A great vintage with the fruit density, richness of flavour, and torque for long-term cellaring. Drinking well now, but the best is yet to come. 14.5% alc "In proportion, well balanced and well executed. It doesn't have the glamour/star power of some vintages, but for enjoyability with a sense of classicism, I think this is wonderful." (GH) 96% Shiraz, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon Barossa Valley (49%), Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu, Wrattonbully, McLaren Vale, Mt Benson
