Cassis and mint inform the nose of the 2017 Jackaman's Cabernet Sauvignon. It's a terrific success in a vintage that wasn't the easiest, with plenty of weight and richness on the palate, deeply concentrated cassis flavors and just hints of what must be a considerable proportion of new French oak; the bulk of those cedary, vanilla-tinged nuances have been easily absorbed into the wine. Supple and plush, it's already accessible—and might just as well be drunk over the next decade, while waiting for the 2018 to round into form.
