| FIRST DROP The Cream Shiraz 2009 NOTES | Barossa Valley | 1 BOTTLE | AU$ 212.75 |
Robert Parker Score: 93+ points
Reviewer: Lisa Perrotti-BrownFebruary, 2012
A blend of 43% Seppeltsfield, 34% Ebenezer and 23% Greenock fruit, the 2009 The Cream Shiraz spent 24 months in 70% new French hogsheads, 10% new American barriques and 20% older oak. Deep purple-black colored, the nose is a little closed, offering very pure ripe blackberry and cassis notes with underlying pencil lead, earth, cedar and cumin seed hints plus a whiff of black truffles. Taut, muscular and densely packed with fruit on the full bodied palate, it has a medium to firm level of very fine tannins, crisp acid and a very long finish. Consider drinking it 2014 to 2024+.
