Drink 1998–2008
The fleshy, sweet, peppery 1994 Shiraz Kalimna Bin 28 is a full-bodied wine revealing moderately intense blackberry fruit along with licorice, smoke, and pepper in the nose. There is not a great deal of complexity in this chewy, dense Shiraz, but it does display plenty of guts and a robust personality. This wine will benefit from another year of cellaring, and last for a decade. This winery continues to turn out an insipid selection of white wines, but the reds are all noteworthy, and some are reasonably good values.

Medium-deep crimson. Intense dark chocolate, plum, smoky, wax polish aromas with hints of aniseed. Inky deep with developed choco-berry apricot, fruits, fine dense chocolaty tannins, a touch of spice and linear fresh but quartz mineral acidity. "Soft, supple and fresh across the palate with very fine, gently grippy tannins that taper to the finish."
