Rockford Basket Press Shiraz is one of the Barossa Valley’s most iconic and sought-after wines. Made by Robert O’Callaghan’s Rockford using traditional basket presses and open fermenters, from dry-grown old-vine fruit – some of it more than a century old – its rich, concentrated style and ability to age have made it a benchmark for Barossa Shiraz and a favourite of Australian collectors.

What is my Rockford Basket Press worth?
The value of a bottle of Rockford Basket Press depends on its vintage, condition, provenance and current demand. Sought-after older vintages from the 1980s and 1990s regularly attract strong bids at auction. When valuing a bottle, buyers look closely at:
- Vintage – highly rated and older years command a clear premium
- Condition – fill level (ullage), label, capsule and cork
- Provenance – where and how the wine has been cellared
- Format – magnums are scarcer and often sell at a premium
Every figure in this guide comes from decades of Sterling auction records, so you’re seeing what buyers actually paid.
