Drink 2025–2033
The 1983 Cabernet Sauvignon hails from a warm season, and the wine feels robustly powerful in the mouth. Notes of clove and cumin, licorice and leather rise through the wine, all of which linger through the finish.
The first bottle I tasted may have been slightly affected by cork. The second bottle shows no cork taint, but it does show significant metallic notes on the palate; and while both the rusticity and leather notes and the dampness and cork characters are decreased here, the metallic leanness is increased. This character shortens the palate.
