Medium-deep crimson. Classical cassis, red cherry, roasted chestnut, melted dark chocolate aromas with beautiful herb garden/hint eucalyptus notes. Fresh blackcurrant pastille roasted chestnut, praline flavours, fine loose-knit slinky tannins, attractive mid-palate volume and well-integrated quartz acidity. In lovely condition, with superb complexity and flow. "Nearly four decades of cellaring haven't diminished its Cabernet Sauvignon essence; its mature, sweet blackberry flavours appear even livelier against the refreshing eucalyptus." (AM) 13.5% alc Padthaway (27%), Coonawarra, McLaren Vale 8 months' maturation in 94% American oak (39% new) and seasoned American and French oak.
