Medium-deep crimson. Fragrant crème de cassis, marzipan, grilled nut, liquorice aromas with hints of sage/mint. "Intense, generous and gently persistent" (JA) on the palate with ample cassis, dark chocolate, marzipan flavours, supple fine-grained tannins and fresh mineral crisp acidity. Very classical in structure with a firm Claret-like finish with hints of sage. Showing perfect maturity, grace and freshness. A great vintage with several years ahead. An historical marker wine. 13% alc "Beautiful, seductive fresh fruit in the mouth - still sweet and plump in its way - the tannins are shapely but remain pliable.
