Drink 2002–2018
1993 was a very light harvest because of excessive rainfall and mild growing conditions. This wine performed well, although it would not appear to have the nuances of the finest vintages of Grange. The wine, a blend of 86% Shiraz and 14% Cabernet Sauvignon, has an opaque purple color, a sweet nose of black currants intermixed with cedar, and earthy, almost truffle-like notes intermixed with some camphor. The wine is full-bodied, dense, somewhat monolithic, but very concentrated, powerful, and long. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2018.

Medium-deep crimson. Lifted warm redcurrant cherry, hint stone fruit aromas with saline, leafy Supple and sweet fruited with evolved strawberry redcurrant, musky red plum fruits, supple satin-like touch velveteen tannins and underlying mocha, coffee, salted liquorice notes. Finishes sinewy and minerally. "Flowing and silky with balanced freshness and deceptive length." (NB). Atypical Grange. Holding extremely well. Very well liked by the UK panel. 13.5% "This is a bit like the 1989 - sets the stars singing. Ravishingly beautiful. Heart. Beat. Heart. Throb. Dark pearlescent lustre into folds and folds of dark tannins." (TC) 86% Shiraz, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon Kalimna Vineyard (Barossa Valley), Barossa Valley and Coonawarra The highest percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon in the history of Grange.
