Drink 2015–2024

Deep garnet-purple, the 2013 Bin 150 Marananga Shiraz is unashamedly forward with fragrant notes of warm berries, fruits of forest compote, violets and anise plus touches of cloves and mocha. Medium to full-bodied, it bursts with spicy blackberry preserves flavors in the mouth, supported by firm, rounded tannins and a lively acid backbone, finishing with great persistence.

Penfolds — The Rewards of Patience, Ninth Edition

Drink: Drink now 2032

Deep crimson. Lovely espresso, dark chocolate, cherry, plum aromas with a lifted herb garden note. Supple black cherry, hint musky plum fruits, fine tannins and underlying mocha oak notes. Finishes chewy/sinewy with juicy dark berry fruits. "Punchy full throttle with a powerful mix of well ripened and slightly varnishy oak." (AH) Not a great year, still holding quite well. 12 months' maturation in American oak (14% new, 36% one-year-old) and French oak (20% new, 30% one-year-old).
