Drink 2022–2037
The Sami-Odi 2020 Hoffmann Dallwitz is from the two blocks of old vines (planted 1888 - 1927) on the Hoffman-Dallwitz vineyard. This has sensational gravitas and weight in the mouth, bolstered by density and closeness of tannin: silty, graphite, chewy, pliable, ductile tannin. It is possessed of nothing short of a kaleidoscopic fruit profile, framed within a medium to medium-plus weight body. The Goldilocks zone, for me. This is elegant and fine, very exciting. Big. Balanced. Awesome.
