CULLEN Vanya Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 | Margaret River | 1 BOTTLE | AU$450-500 | AUD $ 226 |
Robert Parker Score: 96 points
Reviewer: Erin Larkin — March 2025 Week 320 Mar 2025
Drink 2025–2046
The 2016 Vanya Cabernet Sauvignon spent 12 weeks on skins in amphora and was matured for six months in French oak (75% new). The texture in the mouth is so fine and so chalky; it is surely driven by the time spent on skins in amphora, and it sits so well with the character of the vineyard. It lends the wine a character of ozone, or fennel seed, mint or aniseed, or perhaps a mix of all. Regardless, it's a magnificent wine, so svelte. It redefines the Cabernet texture/tannin parameters that we have had up until now. 12.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
