Drink 2021–2040
The 2018 Platinum Label Medlands Vineyard Shiraz offers just a little more intensity than the Cabernet, with almost painful levels of mixed-berry fruit skillfully framed by fine French oak (23% new). Boasting boysenberries, loganberries and hints of blueberries and cherries, there's a whole basket of fruit wrapped in a soft, elegant cocoon of vanilla, cedar and baking spices. Full-bodied and plush on the palate, it finishes long and velvety. Delicious now, it should still be going strong in a decade and may even go two decades before commencing a gradual decline.
