Drink 2011–2016
The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Chardonnay Premier Cru Cuis is all citrus, flowers and stone fruits. This pure, beautifully sculpted Champagne flows with layers of flavor on a sinewy, mid-weight frame. The finish is long and well-articulated if perhaps just a bit austere. The Blanc de Blancs Chardonnay Premier Cru Cuis is 100% Chardonnay Cuis, based on 2007, with reserve wines from 2006, 2005 and 2004. Disgorged May 28, 2010. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2016.
These new releases from Gimonnet show notable focus and energy. If anything, the wines are at times a touch too compact.
