Drink 2022–2032
Where the 2019 was structured and a little bit savory, this 2020 Syrah Grenache is fine, soft and super pretty. The flavors ebb and flow across a board of red berries, musk sticks, dark cocoa, aniseed/licorice root, red apples, satsuma plum and even strawberries. These wines are so pleasurable. I prefer the purity of the varietal expressions, but it is very difficult to dissuade from the fulfillment and satisfaction of the blend. No right or wrong answer, the wines are delicious. Decant before drinking to assist in cracking open the cage of tannins and allow the fruit to sing.
