Penfolds — The Rewards of Patience, Ninth Edition

Drink: Drink now 2032

Deep crimson. Intense and expressive blackberry, dark chocolate, espresso, fresh tobacco hint minty aromas. Richly concentrated wine with ample blackcurrant choco-berry fruits, underlying mocha, roasted chestnut notes and fine loose-knit chalky/touch grippy textures. Builds chocolaty firm at the finish with persistent choco-berry fruit/tobacco leaf notes. "Blackcurrants bleeding into sawdust. Surely a two- decade-plus wine should not be this audaciously fruity and bold?" (TC) A Cabernet-dominant vintage with a firm Claret structure. Should keep for a while. 14% alc 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Shiraz Padthaway (40%), Bordertown, McLaren Vale, Robe, Barossa Valley
